چکیده
The combination of electrospinning and sol-gel methods is attracting the interest scientific community for developing three-dimensional bioactive glass (BG)-based fibers. This paper reports fabrication cotton-like copper-doped BG fibers by combining techniques. Acellular bioactivity in simulated body fluid, ion release, cell viability scratch tests were performed. Results showed that copper was successfully incorporated Cu ions released limited concentration over seven days. presence delayed mineralization upon immersion fluid (SBF), but it did not affect keratinocyte migration. Wound closure test achieved 48 h all investigated samples.

Background: Wound healing is a complicated process involving the proliferation of the epithelial cells, deposition of granulation tissue as well as recruitment of inflammatory cells. It also is a hot topic of research for trauma, orthopedics and general surgery studies. There are many forms of cells involved in this process. This study aimed to design a tissue-engineered wound dressing consisti...
متن کاملElectrospun Fibers as a Dressing Material for Drug and Biological Agent Delivery in Wound Healing Applications
Wound healing is a complex tissue regeneration process that promotes the growth of new tissue to provide the body with the necessary barrier from the outside environment. In the class of non-healing wounds, diabetic wounds, and ulcers, dressing materials that are available clinically (e.g., gels and creams) have demonstrated only a slow improvement with current available technologies. Among all...
متن کاملFabrication, Characterization and Process Parameters Optimization of Electrospun 58S Bioactive Glass Submicron Fibers
Over the past decades, bioactive glass (BG) has been of a great interest in the bone regeneration field, due to its excellent biocompatibility, bioactivity and osteoconductivity. Herein, fabrication of bioactive glass as one-dimensional fibers by employing an Electrospinning process is reported. The Sol-Gel method was chosen considering the final fibers smoothness and homogeneity. Starting sol ...
متن کاملElectrospun silk material systems for wound healing.
The functional properties of six distinct electrospun silk material groups were evaluated to assess conformational and biocompatible characteristics related to wound dressings. In a hydrated state, all six silk matrices exhibited absorption, water vapor transmission, oxygen permeation and enzymatic biodegradation suitable for full-thickness wound sites. Employing constrained drying techniques, ...
متن کاملGentamicin-eluting bioresorbable composite fibers for wound healing applications.
New gentamicin-eluting bioresorbable core/shell fiber structures were developed and studied. These structures were composed of a polyglyconate core and a porous poly(DL-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PDLGA) shell loaded with the antibiotic agent gentamicin, prepared using freeze drying of inverted emulsions. These unique fibers are designed to be used as basic elements of bioresorbable burn and ulce...
